Wine is not simple. The drink has been with us for several thousand years, and in that time, it has only grown more complex as farmers became vintners, vintners became producers, producers became brokers, and brokers became whole industries, each with nuance and symbiotic partnerships. The industry today is a giant worldwide trade system where every nation and region uses different labels, and vines, and wine producing techniques.
The way I first learned about wines was the industry-traditional method of what’s called the French Paradigm, basically understanding wine law, drinking my way through France and studying the various regions, and what varietals they produce. I realize that this way of learning requires a whole lot of time and money, that most people can’t give for such a small pleasure. I have created an easier way to learn wine, that compares wines you know, to wines you don't know yet.
This tool is called the Four-Square Method. This method combined with the Region Guide, is called the WINE01 program. It’s totally free, and offers you the ability to learn about wine quickly, in a relative way that you can understand. You can find this program and later on down the road, quizzes that will test your knowledge, on the WINE01 tab.
That’s All,
Keegan
